Ziongate

I designed a content infrastructure that organized Ziongate’s existing media into a centralized ecosystem and activated it across platforms.

Ziongate

THE CONTEXT:

Ziongate is a cultural music event series hosted at Parallel (Paradiso Amsterdam), bringing together artists, audiences, and community around electronic music and Afro-diasporic sound.

While the events themselves were thriving, the surrounding digital ecosystem — interviews, mixes, playlists, and ambassador content — existed across multiple platforms without a clear structure.

Valuable cultural material was being produced consistently, but it was not easily discoverable or systematically activated.

THE CHALLENGE:

Ziongate had already produced a significant amount of valuable cultural material:

  • radio interviews
  • DJ mixes
  • playlists
  • ambassador videos
  • event documentation

However, the surrounding digital structure lacked cohesion:

  • content was scattered across platforms
  • audiences were not prompted to revisit existing material
  • no central navigation system existed
  • content often disappeared after the initial post
  • Newsletters were not leveraging existing content or driving audiences to properties beyond the event itself

As a result, high-value cultural content was under-leveraged, going to waste.

  • audiences rarely revisited existing content
  • valuable material disappeared after its initial release
  • newsletters functioned primarily as event announcements rather than engagement tools

STRATEGIC INSIGHT:

Great cultural events generate value far beyond the dancefloor.

By organizing and activating the surrounding content ecosystem, Ziongate’s digital presence shifted from event documentation to cultural archive — allowing each event to live on as part of a larger narrative around the community.

THE APPROACH:

  • Content Infrastructure:

To create an immediate solution without requiring a full website build, I designed a centralized content hub using Linktree.

The hub organized Ziongate’s digital assets into structured categories:

• Ziongate FM
• playlists
• ambassador content
• merchandise
• upcoming events

This created a single entry point where audiences could explore the full Ziongate ecosystem beyond a single event.

  • Content Architecture

To improve accessibility and archive value, I proposed standardizing the labeling of Ziongate FM episodes.

Each episode would include:

  • artist name
  • date
  • format (mix / interview)

This created a clearer, more searchable content library across platforms and strengthened the long-term value of the archive.

  • Cross-Platform Amplification

To extend the lifespan of each content release, I designed a cross-platform amplification strategy across:

  • Instagram highlights and posts
  • newsletters
  • playlists
  • Linktree navigation

Event announcements could link to past interviews, mixes, and playlists from the same artists, extending engagement and giving existing content a second life.

  • Newsletter Transformation

The newsletter was restructured from a simple event announcement into a content activation tool.

Instead of only promoting upcoming events, newsletters connected audiences to Ziongate’s existing ecosystem — including interviews, mixes, playlists, and merchandise.

Each send became a gateway into Ziongate’s broader cultural archive.

THE OUTCOME:

The project transformed Ziongate’s scattered digital assets into a structured content ecosystem.

The strategy introduced:

  • a centralized navigation hub
  • improved organization of existing content
  • stronger cross-platform promotion
  • a scalable storytelling framework

Existing properties — Ziongate FM, SoundCloud mixes, ambassador videos, playlists, merchandise, and event pages — were consolidated into an organized structure with clear categories and calls to action.

RESULTS:

The project laid the foundation for:

  • improved discoverability of Ziongate’s content
  • deeper audience engagement beyond live events
  • a more cohesive digital narrative around the Ziongate community

Ziongate’s full content library became discoverable in one place for the first time, allowing audiences to explore interviews, mixes, playlists, and community content beyond a single event.

Most importantly, it positioned Ziongate’s content not just as event documentation, but as an ongoing cultural archive.
